The first letter of Timothy is written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy. The letters of 1 & 2 Timothy reveal a strong relationship, in which Paul has trained and encouraged Timothy in church leadership and preaching and teaching. But amid all this teaching and exhortation, the focus of Paul and Timothy’s efforts should not be missed: the work of God in and through the Lord Jesus Christ. This unrelenting gospel focus is both an encouragement and a challenge as God speaks into our circumstances today.
