Gaelic Bible
Publishing Gaelic Scriptures for over 150 years
Gaelic is the heart language of many people across Scotland. And we have been publishing Gaelic Scriptures for this community for over 150 years.
Our latest translation of the New Testament, published in 2017, combines faithfulness to the original Greek with a contemporary vocabulary, and clarity with dignity.
The future of Gaelic in education and public life has received much attention in recent years.
The Bible has historically been a central component of Gaelic education, and we are working with the Gaelic-speaking community to make more resources available to help teach the language by sharing the Bible.
Hearing God’s Word in Scotland
In the Summer of 2022, we worked with Faith Comes by Hearing and the Gaelic-speaking community of Scotland to produce an audio recording of the new translation of the New Testament.
