Aliya grew up in a Muslim family and, from an early age, was taught to follow the Islamic faith. But as a teenager, she began asking deeper questions about God. At just 16 years old, while still in high school, she found herself longing for something more because her heart felt empty.

“I started looking for God,” Aliya recalls.

Every evening, she would look up at the moon and write letters to the Almighty. She wasn’t asking for success, money, or an easier life. Instead, her heart carried one simple prayer.

“Almighty, show me the place where You are alive.”
Day after day, she prayed that prayer, not knowing that an answer was already on its way.

The Invitation That Changed Everything
Just a few days later, a classmate invited her somewhere on a Sunday morning.
Aliya didn’t even know where they were going. Yet something inside her felt expectant and strangely at peace.
When they arrived, she realised it was a church
The moment she stepped through the doorway, something happened that she has never forgotten.
“Inside, I heard a gentle yet unmistakable voice say, “I’m here.”

In an instant, it felt as though a lamp had been lit inside me.
“The Holy Spirit literally overwhelmed me with His love.”
That day, the pastor preached about God’s love. At the end of the service, he invited anyone who wanted to accept Jesus as their Saviour to come forward.

Aliya didn’t hesitate.

She stepped out and gave her life to Christ.
Before leaving, she was given a Bible.
“I practically flew home,” she says. “I knew I was carrying something precious.”

When Following Jesus Became Difficult
At home, life was already difficult. Her parents’ marriage was falling apart and her brother was struggling with drug addiction.
Instead of things improving, the situation became even harder.
When Aliya’s mother discovered her Bible, she tore it into pieces and threatened to throw her out of the house.
Arguments became more frequent, and her brother’s drug use worsened. The pressure felt unbearable.
Eventually, Aliya reached breaking point.
“I told God, ‘This will be my last time in church. Since I met You, there have only been more problems.”
But as she poured out her frustration, she sensed God speaking to her heart.
“Your mother will be saved, and then your brother.”
It seemed impossible.
Yet she held on to those words.

A Promise Fulfilled
Years passed.
Her family faced even greater hardship. Her father left. Money was scarce. Her brother entered a rehabilitation centre.
Then one day, while shopping for second-hand clothes, Aliya’s mother met a Christian saleswoman. Seeing her distress, the woman encouraged her to visit a local church.
Aliya’s mother agreed.
When the pastor prayed for her, something extraordinary happened.
“She told me she saw Jesus.”
When her mother returned home and shared what had happened, Aliya immediately remembered the promise God had given her years before.
She ran to her room and prayed.
“I asked God to forgive me for ever doubting Him.”

Learning to Trust God’s Timing
Looking back, Aliya sees God’s faithfulness woven throughout her story.
The God she searched for as a teenager answered her prayer.
The God who met her in a church doorway stayed with her through family conflict, heartbreak, and uncertainty.
And the promise she once struggled to believe began unfolding before her eyes.

Today, Aliya continues to follow Jesus, grateful for His patience and His love.
“It has not been easy,” she says. “But I hold on to God and thank Him for everything.”

Her story is a powerful reminder that God hears the prayers of those who seek Him and often answers in ways we could never expect.
How many people around us are asking the same questions Aliya once asked? Many young people are growing up believing they are unloved, unnoticed, or that they must earn their worth. They long for hope but have never encountered the life-changing message of God’s grace. Your support can help more people hear this good news.

Will you help someone searching for answers discover the hope, purpose, and unconditional love that can only be found in Christ?
There are people like Aliya all over the world searching for hope, truth, and a God who is real. Many are asking life’s deepest questions but have never had the opportunity to encounter God’s Word or hear the good news of Jesus for themselves. Through Bible outreach, Scripture engagement, and local ministry, lives are being transformed as people discover God’s love and begin a new journey of faith.

Will you help more people find the answers they are searching for?
