Get Your Baby’s First Bible Free in Scotland
Bibles for Bairns is a programme run by the Scottish Bible Society offering free bible based gifts for new born babies born in Scotland up until (and including) their 5th birthday.
Once a child has been signed up, they’ll receive a special baby bible on their 1st birthday.
On their 2nd, 3rd and 4th birthdays we’ll send birthday cards and fun gifts to encourage the whole family to keep engaging with the Bible.
On their 5th birthday, they’ll be given a children’s Bible to start to read themselves and to explore with the adults in the family.
1,800 Free Bibles for Babies across Scotland
Since 2023, the Scottish Bible Society with the support of our partners have had the privilege of providing parents across Scotland with their very first baby bible for their new born.

Bibles for Bairns Volunteer
Reading to babies and young children helps them learn and grow.
It helps them to feel safe and loved. It builds self-esteem, vocabulary, imagination and even improves sleeping patterns.
What if the stories read to babies and young children at these crucial moments were stories from the Bible: stories that told children they were safe and loved by a God who made them, and who will always be with them as they learn and grow.
