At Scottish Bible Society we share the Bible.
Thanks to the commitment and generosity of our supporters, the Scottish Bible Society is acharity that helps individuals and communities in over 200 countries and territoriesaround the world receive Bibles in a language they understand and in a format they can use. We are creative in supporting churches in Scotland to keep the Bible central andencourage meaningful engagement to deepen encounters with God. The range ofprojects we either initiate here or support around the world is extensive. Teaching people to read using the Bible, helping to heal the wounds of trauma in Bible-based support groups and ensuring Bibles are kept affordable in rapidly growing churches are just a few examples of transformative projects we support.
If you are passionate about the transformational impact of the Bible, we have an excitingopportunity for a creative and strategic leader who excels in a senior managementposition and as part of a leadership team to come and join us. You will be someone withexperience in delivering ministries and programmes that have had a profound impact onpeople’s lives.
The role leads the Bible Engagement and Fundraising ministries of SBS, reporting to theChief Executive. You will be articulate, have strong influencing skills and provenstakeholder management skills to work with all levels of staff in the organisation, ourboard of directors, and external partners. This is a senior role in an organisation with a strong Christian ethos, therefore there is an occupational requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian.
Summary of the Post
- Full-time role based at Bible House, Edinburgh near Haymarket train station.
- Out of normal business hours or occasional weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu in return.
- Salary depending on experience.
