Volunteering and Fundraising - Fun Ways to Support SBS

There are many ways that people in local communities across Scotland can volunteer their time in supporting the Scottish Bible Society as we all play our part in sharing the Bible with our communities. And the great thing is, volunteering and fundraising can be fun too!

Compelled by the opportunity to give free Bibles to school children in the Dominican Republic whose families cannot afford Bibles of their own, the Stirling and Ochil Action Groups came together to decide how they could raise money to help share the Bible with the world.

Twenty walkers from our Stirling and Ochil Action Groups set out on a sponsored walk, blessedly in the sunshine! The walkers came from all stages of life, in support of the children living so far away, and who otherwise will not have access to a Bible in their own language.

There was one additional walker, a boy accompanying his mother, which seemed quite appropriate since the money raised was going to support a project to put Bibles into schoolbags in Dominican Republic.”

Over £48,000 was raised to help Bible distribution to school children in the Dominican Republic. In doing these simple fundraising activities together, everyone made a significant contribution to ensuring the Bible is translated, distributed and shared around the world.
