”The Best Gift That Has Ever Come Into My Life”
But for every Bettie there are many
more families waiting for a Bible.
Imagine longing for God’s Word… but knowing you can’t afford it due to inflation and poverty.
For 14 years, Bettie in Malawi longed for a Bible but the cost was simply too high.
The cost of a Bible in Malawi can be as much as a week’s wages.
Local churches and ministries are doing all they can, but many believers are still waiting and praying.
The Bible Society of Malawi cannot afford to meet the overwhelming need
for God’s Word without support from people like you.
That’s why your gift today matters so much.

“Someone thought of us...
Someone cared enough to
give us God’s Word for free.”
One of the most moving stories comes from the Gibson family. For years, Manesi Gibson attended church alone. Her husband, Smartwell, showed no interest. But when they were given a Bible through the Family Scripture Engagement Programme, Smartwell’s heart softened. “Someone thought of us,” he said. “Someone cared enough to give us God’s Word for free.” Today, Smartwell joins his family in worship. Their home is slowly becoming a house of faith.
You can help place a Bible into someone’s hands today.
In Dowa, the Hope House Orphanage received a set of Masitepe language 100 Steps Bibles (a special Bible that includes stories and fun activities, designed to strengthen family bonds and instil values in children). For years, they had received food and clothing, but never spiritual support.
When the Bible Society of Malawi arrived with Bibles, children clapped and danced. “This is a precious gift,” said Ms. Chikondi, the orphanage director. “The children are coming alive with faith and questions. It’s bringing them joy and promoting unity.”
In Ntcheu, Pastor Gobede stood before a gathering of church leaders with tears in his eyes. “We have been given a treasure,” he said. “The 100 Steps Bible will raise a new generation rooted in Christ.” These children’s Bibles, full of stories and activities, are now being used in Sunday Schools and homes throughout the region. And in Chintheche, something beautiful is happening. Pastor Mike Ng’oma told us that children are now flocking to church – including many from Muslim families. “The 100 Steps Bible is drawing them in,” he shared. “They come for the stories, but they leave changed. It’s a miracle.”
Every £5 you give could help print and share the Bible to those who desperately want their very own copy of God’s Word. Every gift — no matter the amount – makes a difference.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Printing and importing Bibles
into Malawi
Distributing children’s and family Bibles through trusted local churches and schools
Helping individuals, families and communities encounter the transforming power of Scripture
There is such hunger for God’s Word in Malawi.
Will you help feed it?
With every Bible shared, you bring light into darkness, hope into despair,
and the presence of Jesus into homes that need him.
Your support will help share the Bible around the world. You can help churches distribute Bibles to new believers, empowering families, pastors and leaders to strengthen their faith and share the message of Christ.
Here’s how your gift can make a difference:
- £35 would put a much longed-for Bible into the hands of 7 waiting people
- £75 would provide 15 families with their own copy of God’s Word
- £150 would provide 30 children in a Sunday School with their own Children’s Bible
- £250 would provide Bibles for a small village congregation of 50 people
- £1500 would provide enough Bible for a larger congregation of 300 people and families (perhaps your church or youth group could raise this as a special project)
