Peru: the Bread of Life

OBJECTIVE: Give 500 children the 'Bread of Life'

Each school day 500 children in 9 churches/centres spread throughout Lima receive a daily meal that includes milk, fruit, rice or oats. Often it is the only meal that a child will get that day! In addition they receive a children's Bible and Bible story colouring book and regular Bible teaching.

The ‘Bread of Life' programme run by the Peruvian Bible Society helps to improve the older children's reading skills, helps some of the younger ones to learn to read and through stories of Jesus provides some moral and spiritual teaching for their young lives.
