Here’s a story from Egypt: “Dear Lord ... I’m not going to read the Bible any more ...” a lady prayed, then explained to the local Bible Society that she had been trying to read the Bible but couldn’t understand it and finally became discouraged.

Later, her son received a children’s Bible through a school project. It was written in such a simple style that the lady was able to read to her boy. How loved she felt to know that God cared enough to send her a Bible she could understand! She now says, “This Bible was meant not only for my son, but for me as well!”

This story is typical of the many countries our Society serves through the United Bible Societies. Our work would be impossible without the prayers and gifts of our supporters.
